Indication:
- Adapalene gel is indicated for the topical treatment of moderately severe acne vulgaris.
Dosage and Administration:
- Apply Adapalene gel once daily at night to the affected areas of the skin, avoiding the eyes and lips.
- Clean and dry the skin before application.
- Apply a thin film of the gel to areas with acne lesions, covering the entire affected areas lightly.
- A mild transitory sensation of warmth or slight stinging may occur shortly after application.
- Therapeutic results should be noticeable after 8 to 12 weeks of treatment.
Warnings and Precautions:
- Cutaneous signs such as erythema, dryness, scaling, burning, or pruritus may appear. Adjust frequency or discontinue use based on severity.
- Avoid contact with eyes, lips, angles of the nose, and mucous membranes. Wash with warm water in case of accidental exposure.
- Moisturizers may be used if necessary, but avoid products containing alpha-hydroxy glycolic acid.
- Do not apply to cuts, abrasions, or sunburned skin. Wait for complete recovery before continuing administration.
- Minimize sunlight exposure during Adapalene application. Use sunscreens and protective clothing when exposure cannot be avoided.
- Safety for children under 12 years old is not established.
- Apply the gel at night.
- The gel is for topical application only, not for ophthalmic, oral, or intravaginal use.
- During the early weeks of therapy, an apparent exacerbation of acne may occur, but it should not be a reason to discontinue therapy.
Contraindications:
